This summer we partnered with The Brick to transform our little outdoor space into a backyard entertaining oasis. Since we revealed all our hard work, you have asked so many questions! Thank you for that! No really! I appreciate all the emails and direct messages, those kinds of conversations are my favourite part about blogging. A few themes started to arise from your messages… many of the questions were the same, so I thought I would do a follow up Q&A patio style!
Let’s Talk Lounge Furniture:
Some of the most asked questions were about our lounging set… What is it made of? Is it durable? Will it hold up to weather, toddlers and that giant dog? Will the color fade? Do you have to conditioning or paint it? Good Luck keeping it looking that way… I guess that wasn’t a question. But you get the point.
We went with The Park Terrace patio set because it’s made of durable UV resistant resin or all weather wicker. We wanted something that will last over the years with zero upkeep compared to real wicker or wood options.
I was very torn because it does come in a brown/natural colour option but I loved the sleek black for our design theme. It’s completely wipeable, which for us with two babies and a dog is a blessing. So far I’ve been lucky spot treating the fabric quickly after a spill or two.
Let’s Talk Accessories:
Where did you find your accessories? Are those outdoor items? Are they kid friendly?
Almost every accessory you see is from The Brick. Most were in-store purchases, every location is different and has a variety of in-store purchases not listed online. So I’m sorry I couldn’t link those up for you but you should go to your local location to take a look. You never know what you could find.
All the lighting is outdoor solar panelled, the dishes and cups are plastic making them kid friendly. Those items I found at Canadian Tire.
Let’s Talk About This Fire Place:
Where did you find that fireplace? How heavy is it? Does it run on a gas line? Does it give off heat for guests? How often do you use it?
Within 1 day of posting our patio transformation I had over 15 DM’s on Insta Stories asking where I found this modern fire table… of course THE BRICK!!! It’s super lightweight, even I can move it if I need to. We keep it in it’s cover between uses. We have it hooked up to a propane tank and use it at least 2 evenings a week. And we haven’t filled that propane tank yet this summer. It gives off heat, but not a crazy amount, I would compare it to an outdoor heater on low. Perfect for when the sun goes down and the air cools off. It will take us well into fall for outdoor entertaining!
