These are a few of my favourite things… || The Ultimate Gift Guide with @LondonDrugs #AD #LondonDrugs

I’m so exciting for Christmas this year and I’m completely covered in the gift department. I love to call myself the ultimate “gifter” because due to my job as a blogger, I get to try so many products each year that I start to play favourites. Naturally I find shopping for the perfect gift easy each year. I’ve teamed up with Diana from 204park to bring you our unique must haves from London Drugs this holiday season. Head over to her blog to see what she’s loving this season from one of our fav Canadian retailer. And head to my Instagram for your chance to win a $300 gift card to help get you Christmas ready from London Drugs. Let’s get the gift ideas going, here are my product picks:

Next up, my game changer of the year. This Sonicare DiamondClean smart electric toothbrush from Phillips has changed my life! It gives me a dentist clean. And in white and gold… I’m smitten with the design. Add this guy to the practical person on your gift buying list.

We all know I love beauty, so I needed to include the new Biotherm Skin Oxygen line. For both men and women, these skincare products help to correct imperfections created by pollutants in our environments. I’m loving the results and the light fresh scent. Strengthen your skin barrier and clarify your face.

Let’s talk coffee! I had to include my favourite at home coffee machine from Keurig. The Keurig K200 2.0 Brewer in “Sandy Pearl,” has made my day… many days over this past year. I love the look of it on my counter and the flexibly of cup size. 6oz, 8oz, 10oz… you name it! Plus it’s k-cup compatibility with Starbucks at home coffee brews has sold me. I love it! The water reserve is ample, so I don’t need to add water for each use.

The Google Home Mini, is small but mighty. It says that on the box for a reason. It’s way smaller, and more affordable then the original but it’s just as smart. I tell it to play songs, set alarms, tell me the weather, play Netflix and turn on my lights. It’s the ultimate home assistant.  Continue reading

Our Livingroom || Festive Touches with @TheBrick #AD #homedecor #mybrickhome

I love this time of year! But I’ll be the first to admit, it can feel overwhelming with the excessive amount of “things” I feel I may need. So this year, I took a far more minimal approach to our holiday decor and let me be the first to say I’m loving it. When you have great furniture to begin with, I don’t feel the need to get put up an excessive amount of decorations to get that festive feel. I love how comfortable and cozy our living room is with ample seating with two Designed2B Dez 3-Piece Sectionals from The Brick. Soft, cozy and inviting. It’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We added pre-lite garland to my favourite Black Arch lamps with Gold Shades to get a holiday feel. Added a few ornaments, greenery and signage throughout the room to add just enough festive flair. How are you decorating this year?

I simple love the holidays. Since posting our dining set up on my IG stories I’ve gotten quite a few questions about our minimalist take on decorations. Honestly, I’m loving it. Not only is it cost efficent, I still feel like we’ve captured that festive feel without breaking the bank. The key to my Modern Minimalist Christmas style: great furniture to begin with! You don’t need tons of seasonal decorations to get a room looking great when it already looks amazing. We went with dining set from The Brick mainly because I loved the look of it. But also, the padded leather chairs are comfortable and wipeable for the kids. The Bari set is so stylish and clearly became the focal point of our room. 7A02BCF7-D3DB-4239-9AB8-6C8BBA2EEDE3We added fresh greenery to our Jade Server for that festive look and unreal smell. For more of a festive scent to the room, I added seasonal candles to those mazing black honey comb candle holders I found in store from The Brick. To keep with the minimalist theme, I stored away our table clothe, running and napkins in the Jade Server for a decluttered look. Simple and chic without breaking the bank on an over the top tablescape.

Lastly, I added a sparse garland to the picture and some geo shaped decorations to the light fixture. It only took me a few minutes to get so much visual impact with just a handful of seasonal decorations.

Home Decor || Have You Seen Our New Dining Place? || Featuring The Bari Set by @TheBrick #AD

With one of the most anticipated sales of the year starting tomorrow, I wanted to share with you our finished dining space. Maybe give you a few items you may want to check up on in the massive Black Friday sale this weekend at The Brick.  I don’t know exactly what items will be discounted but their sale is legendary… It’s definitely one to check if you are looking to pick up furniture at a fraction of the price.

I fell in love with this Bari dining set and worked the design of the space around it’s modern aesthetic. The leather on the chairs is wipeable, which is perfect for our family needs. And this Jade server has almost the exact wood colour and finish. I love the table with this functional and trendy server but if we did not have that window to the right I would have loved this matching Bari bookcase.

With the holidays fast approaching I accessorized our set with neutral items like tropical leaf place settings, gold cutlery and these honeycomb candle holders I found in store from The Brick. I love these geometric wall scones too, also found instore from The Brick. They really complete the room.  Continue reading

Home Decor || How to Style Sidetables 2 Ways || With @TheBrick #AD

Ever since our master bedroom reveal with this amazing The Berlin bed, so many of you have asked how we style our side tables. Honestly, I love to style side tables for bedrooms and end tables for living rooms simply because there are so many options. It’s the kind of design element you can change often, work in seasonal pieces and really have fun. See our International Lux Accent Table from The Brick styled two ways below.

The first way I like to style an side table is what I called the “Symmetric” Approach. Find a larger functional item like a lamp or a fan. Like this Tyler Lamp from The Brick in the centre of the side table. Depending how much much surface area you have add style items centrally to the table. I like stacks of books, candles, and cute smaller alarm clocks.

The next style approach is basically the opposite, it’s an Asymmetric Approach to placing your items. Simply pick one side of the table for your larger dominant item like this lamp and stack styled accents from there. I love this large glass jar I found in store at The Brick. I use them throughout the house to add a pop of shiny colour.
