It’s the most wonder time of the year… who just sang that first sentence with their head too? I’ve partnered with Nordstrom to score my picks from their legendary Half Yearly Sale. Until May 27th score your favourites at up to 40% off. I love to update my summer wardrobe with some designer favourites this time of year, not only for the discount but the in-store Nordstrom shopping experience also. Whenever I enter a Nordstrom I love the warm greetings and styling expertise of their staff. There have been many a time I come in with an idea of a look I’m wanting to achieve and they make it a reality with personalized product picks that fit my style and body type. They are a pleasure to work with… not looking for a shopping helper, don’t worry the sale is easily marked throughout the store for you to search on your own if that’s your kinda day. Who doesn’t love a great shopping day?

By now I’m sure you’re curious about what I picked up in the sale. I needed a few basics to add to my day to day Mommy wardrobe. And I’ve been dying to add something romantic for date night. And jeans, I love getting a good pair of denim on major clearance. Here are my product picks from the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale:

Make + Model Take It Easy Lounge Hoodie in “GREY PEARL HEATHER.” I love the feminine ruffle detail on this lounge wear hoodie. It’s perfect for kicking it with the kids around the house but cute enough to wear out on a Starbucks coffee date.

Tory Burch Cecily Sequin Embellished Espadrille in “OCTAGON SQUARE/ NEW IVORY.” Espadrilles are a summer wardrobe staple in my humble opinion. Dress them up with a Maxi or feminine romper. Or pair them with casual shorts or distressed denim jeans. They are so comfy and so stylish.

Socialite Lace Overlay Romper. I’ve been searching for an elegant lace romper for date night for quite some time. I had my eye on this one for months, so I’m so pumped to have scored it on sale. These Palm Leaf Espadrilles are included in the sale too! Continue reading →

Home Decor || Alastair’s Room Update

I’m so excited to share Alastair’s room update with all of you this week. Some may have noticed we’ve been working on this room for several months now. When we moved into this house over a year ago, the previous owners used it as a home gym/ storage room. We pretty much adopted that idea in the moving process. It was far easier using it as a storage spot for many months and have Alastair sleep in a toddler bed in our room. Fast forward one year, I’m so ready to not only gain back our master bedroom but provide a toy heaven sleep situation for our little guy. His entire room design revolves around The Maroq Triangle Area Rug. Graphic geometric triangles in teal and mustard bring excitement to any space. The soil-resistant fibres in this rug will withstand daily use. Every kid’s room needs ample storage. We added both open and closed storage with the Harbor View Cabinet and Barrister Lane Tall Bookcase. Both in weather grey wood adding the perfect neutral palette to the room.

Home decor || A Mother’s Day Tablescape

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I’ve partner with The Brick to bring you a feminine tablescape using their beautiful Bari dining table. I love the modern design of the Bari, head to toe, the brown mindi veneers offer a warm look and plenty of woodgrain highlights. Lengthwise, the table edges subtly bow outwards, for a boat-like shape. This mid-century modern design completely fits the strong trend in home decor at the moment. The spacious tabletop with the criss-cross base provides ample room for guests. Perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch at home. We added pops of pink, gold and green for a feminine feel to the table top. The green leaf place settings added a fun element to the space for this special occasion.

Casual Seating || Bar Stool Edition

One of my favourite features to our kitchen is the counter seating. Whenever we have family and friend gatherings everyone seems to congregate in the kitchen while I cook. Don’t get me wrong, I love the company but this set of seating has really come in handy many a time.

Casual seating is a great feature to add when your space can accommodate for it. Bar seating or counter seating; either way it’s another piece of furniture with that welcoming feel like you want them to “stay a while.” When we host large seasonal gatherings like Christmas or Thanksgiving, this counter sit up doubles as the “kids” table for extra seating at meal time. It has become a must in terms of functionality for hosting with ease.

I’ve been on the hunt to find a rustic glamour bar stool like the Trudell bar from The Brick. From its clean-cut design to the broad swaths of treated wood, this elevated chair is solidly built and designed to transcend the trends. The pine surface has been subtly wire brushed for a more natural look. Meanwhile, the golden brown finish raises these attractive details to your attention. I love how it pairs with the banana leaf wall paper and animal hide mirror I found in store from The Brick. Plus, the wipeable surface will survive my toddler tornado with easy clean up post dinner.
