I love a good seasonal place setting, it’s probably one of my favourite home decorating activities. I have a “go with what you’ve got” mentality. The base, an amazing and versatile dining table with chairs. I like an easy to clean surface and ample seating. The Caroline dining bench from The Brick is a comfortable option for seating, while the Monarch metal cafe chairs are easy to wipe down for your mini children guests.
Next, mix in china sets that you own and love, for me these floral vintage pieces from my late Grandma are perfectly paired with the new Anthropologie gold spot plates. Get creative with your napkins, it’s an easy and cost effective way to mix in a seasonal theme. Layered into the china, bunny shaped or with fresh flowers or herbs tucked inside… napkins can turn a place setting from everyday to special event in seconds.
Finally nothing says fancy like fresh flowers, I found these at my local grocery store. I bought the most affordable grower’s bundles in my table setting colour palette and made my own bouquets. Making your own arrangements makes it far more affordable to go with fresh centre pieces.
Think about adding a mini mimosa bar to the end of the dining table. Mini bar cart like set ups add fun little details that would otherwise be left out of the dining decor. Plus, your guests have amazing beverages right at their finger tips literally. It’s all about the little luxuries.
Play to your guest list! I LOVE champagne flutes but it’s always nice to incorporate both the masculine and feminine versions of the popular cocktail glass. I like to set the short champagne flutes out for all the men dining to give them a less feminine tall glass for their dining enjoyment. And always offer water… it’s a table staple not to miss.
Happy Spring darlings, I hope you found some dining inspiration.
