I still can’t believe summer is almost over! Maybe it’s been how sick this pregnancy has made me, or chasing after a toddler but this was the fastest summer of my life! For my maternity looks, transitioning from easy to dress summer, to the cooler temperatures may be a bit of a challenge. Let’s face it, it’s was easier wearing cotton strict maxi dresses everyday. Fall is my favourite season in more ways then one, and undoubtedly my favourite style season. I love outerwear, boots and long sleeve dresses.
Luckily I picked up this summer to fall transition dress from Envie De Fraise. If you haven’t heard of them, Envie de Fraise is a leading European maternity brand founded in 2006 by Anne-Laure Constanza with a vision to create affordable, effortless chic clothing for every body type and style. With comfort in mind they design both trendy and essential pieces for the modern moms-to-be. I mean, if it’s good enough for Anne Hathaway and Gwen Stefani’s pregnancy style it’s good enough for me!
You’ll know from my snapchat and insta stories I’ve been obsessed with the new J.Crew Crossbody Signet bag. It comes in so many colours and is fully customizable. You can add a monogram or hang little extras like this key holder. I added my grandma’s scarf for a very personal touch. I’m still torn, might go back and get a one in the animal print too.
This week my belly is officially the size of a soccer ball, this fact has been extremely evident each day I get dressed. Like my first pregnancy, I am trying my darnedest to only purchase maternity items that are absolutely needed, stick within my current wardrobe and only acquire pieces that I can wear after my pregnancy also. It’s such a short period of time to invest in maternity pieces, I like to get designer pieces that can fit a belly but can also be great for my postpartum body. So far this summer I’ve been living in dresses like this one from Morning Lavender. As long as the length is longer I can get away with non maternity options such as this white stunner.
So pumped to have acquired a few new designer accessories lately. I’ve been sporting this rose gold watch from Porsamo Bleu and my new anniversary present this stunning Chloe Drew in Mushroom grey. Both are so stunning, they elevate even the most casual look. Look for my take on the all white trend with Fashion Magazine’s style panel this week.
It’s festival season in the capital city and I’ve teamed up with Manulife place to style 2 looks head to toe for 2 of my favourite Edmonton events. Manulife Place serves the city with a high-level shopping experience at every turn, from valet parking to personal shopping assistants at some of their stores. You’ll find a number of local boutiques, Edmonton’s only Holt Renfrew, and convenient pedways to and from the area’s office towers.
I struggle every trip in the packing department, maybe because almost every trip I have that moment where I’m missing a key item from my wardrobe back home. This last vacation to maui, I was lucky enough to pack just right and completely avoided the dreaded clouting regret. I’m simply tip, don’t just plan out complete looks, instead plan items that go with several other items you are packing. It’s almost like packing a mini faction capsule collection. I stayed in the neutral realm and packed lots of black, white and a few statement pieces of colour. I used this clutch with 2 other looks during the week, and used the sunglasses with 3 other looks. The dress I word twice, once as a beach coverup, and once to a dressy oceanside dinner.
Packing Tip #1:Pack a mini capsule collection. Almost everything you pack should go with several other items in your suit case, thus making a wardrobe of endless possibilities.
Packing Tip #2:Packing lots of options in the sunglasses, clutch and jewellery department. These items are light weight and don’t take up tons of room in your luggage. Changing them up throughout the day can help your look transition from the beach to dinner wear.
Packing Tip #3:Pack travel sized skincare and hair necessities. Or purchase larger sunscreens, shampoo and conditions when you arrive. This frees up room in your luggage to pack more clothing options.
