It’s a mom’s reality, joy and nightmare all at the same time… those cute adorable growing feet! I know I’m not the only one that struggles with the mini shoe game weekly. I get Alastair a new pair of shoes, I blink and he’s outgrown them. Luckily Edmonton got a DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse kids! It’s the largest shoe store in Canada carrying some of my favourite brands at a discount: Hunter, Kate Spade, Coach, Nike, New Balance, Converse, Toms, Sorel, and Ugg. It makes it so easy to pick up a few pairs of on trend shoes at an affordable price.
We found these New Balance sneakers for my husband and of course the cutest little Vans for Alastair.
It’s giving away time! To help keep the feet in your life stylish I’ve teamed up with Designer Shoe Warehouse! For your chance to win 1 of 2 $50 gift cards of your own, simply complete the two following steps for an entry:

Today is my lovely husband’s birthday! I’m so excited to give you a little peek into the man cave I’ve been working on for Matt from The Brick. For me, it was so important to give Matt a space he can call his own football oasis where he can relax, kick back and watch some NFL. The challenge has been creating a space that is masculine, functional and stylish. For me I truly believe the biggest visual impact is your sofa choice and it’s also the one piece of furniture you’ll use the most. With that being said, I wanted to find Matt something chic/ comfortable that could withstand the wear and tear of kids and a dog. The River from The Brick offers the best of both worlds. It’s not your average recliner; I’m loving the sleek design, wipeable leather and the power recline. Stylish comfort when enjoying a football game or taking a quick cat nap. I’ve built the design of this room around the River power recliner sofa and chair, stay tuned for the full reveal in December!
Hello Kira’s Northern Style Exposure world, this is the bearded person in her life, her dad… I’m here doing a little blog takeover to talk about some men’s products. Mammoth Beard Company out of Calgary, really really impressed me with their high quality ingredients and knowledge in preparing the products. Jojoba, Hazelnut, Hemp seed , Camellia , Vitamin E, Shea butter, Bees wax, all to make your beard soft and happy. The Shea butter is sourced ethically from Ghana, which is an added bonus for a consumer. I especially liked “The Devil’s Reserve,” “Hazelnut & Hemp,” and the “Exotic champaca, sweet vanilla ,bourbon.” I could very well imagine the Devil in a tux with a grin enjoying the smell of this balm and oil, it has become a favourite along with the “Tobacco and Rose,” which has a wonderful slight smoky smell to it. This company is very highly recommended, a company that really cares for it’s product.
It’s me ” That Bearded Guy,” or Kira’s Dad. After trying a number of different oils ,waxes and balms, I was disappointed in both the quality and scent. Many smelled like old shoes or boiled cabbage. Until “Eureka!” I found a couple that use all natural and good for my beard ingredients. The first brand I’ve gravitated to is “MOD CABIN,” made with hand crafted all natural ingredients including: shea butter, bees’ wax, jojoba , and argan. Their products are nicely scented with essentials oils , plus they are bad stuff free. Your beard grows long and healthy, I have tried all the oils and balms plus the moustache wax that holds very well, I strongly recommend these products from MOD CABIN. Continue reading →
