Beauty || Micellar Water Ultra with La Roche-Posay #sponsored

We all know I’m a micellar water addict, I’ve been a daily user for years and you’ve seen me snap, post and insta story a million times about it. So when La Roche-Posay asked me to try their new Ultra line I was all in. For those of you whom may not be familiar with the popular micellar water product, it’s basically a gentle cleanser and makeup remover all in one. I first got into these waters when I noticed the harsh reactions my face could have to tap waters when I traveled to different cities. At the time, I wanted to know that my skin and eyes wouldn’t react when I was away from home for beauty campaigns or press tours. Micellar water to the rescue!

La Roche-Posay has taken micellar water to the next level by introducing three different formulas to match your skin type more accurately and delivery even better results. Personally, my fit was the micellar water for dry to reactive skin. It soothes and cares for my delicate reactive winter skin by enriching it with 5% glycerin, the highest percentage in the ULTRA range. This formula not only delicately cleanses my skin, but also leaves it feeling hydrated.

Lifestyle || GALentines Day || A bouquet giveaway!

I’m neither here nor there on Valentines Day. I usually do something nice for my significant other but growing up what I loved about the day was the treats I shared with my loved ones. My parents would get us hand picked postcards from Edmonton’s AGA art gallery, write cute messages and give us a few sweet treats. I loved the personalized gesture of caring… as I’ve gotten older the day has grown along those lines, a day to show your loved ones you’re thinking of them. That’s why I love the term GALentines Day, it doesn’t have to be about boyfriends it can be about your best gal pals!

Style || Vacation Style 101 || Easy breezy fashion & beauty guide to packing

In the past I’ll admit I was an over packer! Now that I travel quite often I’ve started to pick up a few tricks along the way. On a tropical vacation I will pack two statement pieces that can be dressed up or down. One of them for this trip to Maui was this silk jumpsuit from J.Crew. Perfect for an easy breezy afternoon of strolling the markets but can easily be dressed up with a heel, bold bright lipstick and my hair down for an evening dinner out.

We all know I’m a beauty junkie but less is more when it comes to packing product for a trip. I like to focus on the basics ensuring I pack product that have impact and duel purpose.

For daytime, I packed my favourite Olay eye cream and it doubled as my full face cream for the trip. An easy brow palette and shaping kit by Benefit. Plus a highlighting palette from Hourglass, not only did I use this one for my face but it also doubled as eyeshadow. Finally, for night I add a full coverage foundation and several lipstick shades.

For my hair I used Invisibobble traceless hair rings to do effortless undo’s without bobby pins. Plus, these ties do not leave kinks in your hair so I could easily take your hair down for dinner at night. I love a good beach spray too.

Shoes are your enemy when packing light. They take up tons of space and most are heavy. I packed 1 heel in a neutral, these metallic flats and I wore a sneaker on the plane. Think day, night and activewear. And if you keep these picks in the metallic or neutral range you are golden.

Don’t pack hats! I scored this one at a market for $12. Don’t pack shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Just pay a visit to grocery store and purchase some once you are there… commit to affordable choices that you will leave behind.

Beauty || Beating the Winter Skin Battle || 7 Product Secrets

Winter is in full swing, and for me that means all the skincare owes that come with it. In the colder months I struggle with dry patches, dull skin tone and my usual hormonal acne breakouts. I know, it’s a mixed bag of skin care concerns but I thought I’d share the products I’ve had on repeat to get my skin glowing again. These are my 7 product secrets to help you beat the winter skin battle:

Let’s start with your moisture level on your hands and body. I have pretty sensitive skin, as you all know, so I like to find an unscented body lotion for my everyday skincare needs. Plus, I have a newborn resting on my skin constantly, so I can’t have scented creams get on her very declared and reactive skin. This Atoderm Intensive Baume from BIODERMA is perfect for soothing my itchy dry skin during the winter. And it’s Hypoallergic and paragon free, so it’s perfect for use on me and the little ones.

Ugh, I don’t even like writing about it… my hormonal acne breakouts. I get a small breakout every month on my chin like clock work. BUT I finally found a spot treatment that clears it within an application or two. Meet “Clear Days Ahead” fast-acting salicylic acid spot treatment from Philosophy. It’s a tiny little bottle that packs a punch.

On the go I love a good spray for my face… freshening up in seconds throughout the day. I’ve been using this natural option from Odacite. Each micro-drop of this Rose + Neroli Hydra-Vitalizing Treatment mist is formulated to revitalize combination, normal or sensitive skin and restore a fresh, balanced complexion.

Beauty || Glam in moments with @MaybellineCAN || My NYE Makeup Product Picks

It has been such an amazing year for me in the blogging world, one of the big reasons was my year long partnership with Maybelline. It has been an honour to be one of four blogger faces of the Maybelline Squad for 2016. I’ve used their makeup for almost two decades (wow that ages me, haha) and they have always been a drugstore beauty product go to for me. I’ve teamed up with them to create this five minute face to brave the cold and watch some New Year’s Eve fireworks. For me, a look isn’t glam without a bold lip… luckily it only takes seconds to go from day to light with a great Maybelline lipstick.

I started with a foundation of glowing skin with thier new Dream Cushion foundation and illuminating concealer stick. These two are a life saver for a busy mom like myself. A few strokes and a bend or two with your fingers your skin will look radiant. This is the concealer a lot of you asked about on my insta story, I love that it both covers and highlights at the same time. Perfect combination and it saves time when you are trying to quickly get ready with a toddler at your feet.

For this easy 5 minute face I used:

Tatcha Radiant Deep Brightening Serum, Skinny & Co. Coconut Oil to moisturize face, Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Vanilla Candy Cane lip butter as moisture base, Maybelline Lipstick in 775. For my eyes and cheeks Maybelline Gilted in Gold makeup kit. To achieve glowing skin in I’m rocking the new Maybelline Dream Cushion foundation and Dream illuminating concealer.
